How I outline my presentations is probably quite different than any other speaker. But my process works quite well which is why I’m sharing it with you.
Most speakers I know struggle with outlining their speech. As a result their speaking business suffers. Unfortunately for a lot of folks, this is why they never even get their speaking business off the ground.
Look, if a speaker is out there speaking but not getting spin-off business and referrals, then there is a problem with the speech, not the audience. And the root of that problem lies in the foundation of the speech outline.
Moreover, if a speaker is trying to start speaking but not getting engagements, then the problem is also likely in the speech outline … or even having a speech to begin with.
So if you want to get more speaking business, or even get into speaking, you need a guide to ensure you’re developing your speech outline properly.
Several years ago I created a “Speaker Storyboard.” Whether I’m presenting a 60 minute keynote, a 20 minute banquet speech, or a full day training, I customize each and every “Speaker Storyboard” template.
I walk you through how to use the template in my book, PAID to SPEAK. So if you don’t have a copy of my book, then trying to understand my storyboard might confuse you at first. But it’s still not that difficult.
So if you’re an aspiring speaker, remind yourself that your speech outline is the most important time investment you can make in yourself.
Your product isn’t you. It’s your speech! Which means your speech has to be skillfully crafted like a heartbeat with professionalism.
